Theresa Lungu – Founder/Administrator
“okumvwa mumala ni ozulako” - “He who has a belly ache hastens to find relief” – Zambian Nsenga saying.
Born and raised in Luanshya, Zambia, Theresa has seen and felt the acute need for enhanced early childhood education in Zambia. She started Books For Zambia in 2003 to save Luanshya Library from the verge of closure. She now lives in Massachusetts where she is studying Communications at Boston College and works in the University’s school of Education.
Theresa is also the author of ‘Twilight In The Morning’ and is looking to publish her second novel in the near future.
Lauren Fish - Youth Advocate
Lauren is a native of Wayne, Maine. A junior at Boston College, studying Elementary Education and Human Development, Lauren is very interested in childhood literacy and children's books, (She just penned her first script, ‘Kangaroo's shoes.’) As a sophomore in 2009, Lauren joined Books for Zambia and worked with her local elementary school to send 300 children's books to the Helen Kaunda Memorial Library.
Lauren has become truly passionate about impacting the education of the community in Luanshya.

Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Lifelong Luanshya resident. Mrs Lungu is a cornerstone in ensuring efficient book delivery and accountability. Mrs Lungu was educated at the renowned Ibenga Girls Secondary School in Luanshya Rural.
